bernato is a distributed AI agent engine. Each node maintains one authenticated outbound-only WebSocket
to the hosted broker, opens no bernato inbound node port, and keeps local policy in charge of projects,
workspaces, executables, terminals, and Git-tracked Markdown memory.
Current command surface
bernato run — starts an admitted task in a detached worktree or scratch workspace
bernato web — opens the authenticated numeric-loopback local IDE
bernato ps, attach, and stop — inspect and control bounded sessions
bernato memory — reads, searches, or synchronizes bounded Git-tracked Markdown memory
Release posture
The node-side distributed runtime and local IDE are implemented in source. No qualified provider is enabled,
no operating-system support row is qualified, no supported public artifact is available, and hosted-broker production evidence
remains a separate gate. Command availability is not release authority.
- Remote intent — logical IDs never grant local path, executable, shell, or terminal authority
- Providers — installation, sign-in, credentials, approval policy, and charges remain provider-owned
- Containment — provider identity does not qualify filesystem, network, or process isolation
- Distribution — private candidate archives are engineering evidence, not public downloads
