# bernato

> bernato is a distributed AI agent engine. Each node maintains one authenticated, outbound-only WebSocket to app.bernato.dev, opens no Bernato inbound port, and retains local authority over projects, workspaces, executables, terminals, and Git-tracked Markdown memory.

The node-side distributed runtime and authenticated numeric-loopback local IDE
are implemented in source. Supported provider, operating-system, artifact, and
hosted-broker production claims remain fail-closed until their qualification
and provenance gates pass. There is no active commercial offer.
